When we opened back in May 2025 I wanted a space where everyone felt welcomed and supported in ways that I never had when I first started my career.

Chair Rental Opportunity:
We’re opening the doors for motivated stylists to join our team through a part time & full time chair rental opportunity.
This rental is ideal for a stylists looking for flexibility and independence while still being part of a supportive, luxury salon environment.
Daily Rate: $150/day (less than 10 days a month)
PT Rent: $600/month (3 days/week)
FT Rent: $900/month

Days available:
Part Time: Sunday, Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays +opportunities for other days to possible full time station in future. This is a shared station.
Full Time: Available December 1, 2025
To hold your chair, your first month rent is due at rental/culture agreement signing.

Compensation Overview

Commission Stylists are paid monthly.

Credit Card Tips: Paid on paycheck.

Cash Tips: 100% yours to keep.

Base Pay: $7.25/hr (Iowa minimum wage) for all new hires. Your commission will be more than your hourly as long as you do more in sales that is equivalent to your weekly base pay.

Base pay will be configured based on years of experience, talent, income projections.

Increases available after the 90-day Rising Star Period (probation/training phase).

NO OVERTIME allowed

Part Time Commission Stylist:
Schedule & Pay

Up to 25 hours/week (shared station).

Equivalent base: $182/week (25 hrs x $7.25) starting (first 90 days)

Expected schedule: 3 days/week behind the chair (BTC).
Paid & Unpaid Time Off

5 MTO (My Time Off) days/year @ base pay.

Birthday: Paid day off @ base pay.

5 Sick Days/year (unpaid).

1 Mental Health Day one per month (unpaid).

Maternity Leave: 3 weeks paid @ base hourly rate.

Holidays: All major holidays off (unpaid unless using MTO).
Additional Benefits

Optional front desk hours available @ base pay (while building clientele).
Performance-Based Growth

Base pay & commission % reviewed every 6–12 months.
Increases granted if benchmarks are met at least 80% of the time.
Commission Structure (Service Sales)
Commission is based on monthly service sales.

Base Pay Tiers (Performance-Based)
Based hourly pay will be determined at time of interview and is based on years of experience, talent, income projections.
Base hourly pay increases as performance and commission levels rise:

30% – 40% commission → $7.25 – $9.00/hr

45% – 55% commission → $10.00 – $12.00/hr
-
60% – 70% commission → $15.00 – $25.00/hr
Anniversary Benefits
After 1 year with Salon AU, stylists are eligible for additional paid/unpaid leave benefits (extra MTO, sick days, mental health days, and extended ML) based on overall performance.
