About Us:
We are all working co-independently as stylists who either rent a chair by sharing a community space or work as a commission stylist inside the Hybrid Salon model.
When we opened back in May 2025 I wanted a space where everyone felt welcomed and supported in ways that I never had when I first started my career.

We have Full Time & Part Time Chair Rental Available
Chair Rental Opportunity:
We’re opening the doors for motivated stylists to join our team through a part time & full time chair rental opportunity.
This rental is ideal for a stylists looking for flexibility and independence while still being part of a supportive, luxury salon environment.
Daily Rate: $150/day (less than 10 days a month)
PT Rent: $600/month (3 days/week)
FT Rent: $900/month

We are growing as a community inside and are excited to welcome licensed stylists to consider us for a commission employment opportunity within Salon Au starting November 1st 2025.
Compensation Overview

Commission Stylists are paid monthly.

Credit Card Tips: Paid on paycheck.

Cash Tips: 100% yours to keep.

Base Pay: $7.25/hr (Iowa minimum wage) for all new hires. Your commission will be more than your hourly as long as you do more in sales that is equivalent to your weekly base pay.

Base pay will be configured based on years of experience, talent, income projections.

Increases available after the 90-day Rising Star Period (probation/training phase).

Base Pay Tiers (Performance-Based)
Based hourly pay will be determined at time of interview and is based on years of experience, talent, income projections.
Base hourly pay increases as performance and commission levels rise:

30% – 40% commission → $7.25 – $9.00/hr

45% – 55% commission → $10.00 – $12.00/hr

60% – 70% commission → $15.00 – $25.00/hr
Anniversary Benefits
After 1 year with Salon AU, stylists are eligible for additional paid/unpaid leave benefits (extra MTO, sick days, mental health days, and extended ML) based on overall performance.

-Possibly help run to supply store to grab supplies if needed.
-Help take behind the scenes content for social media.
-Help with marketing of SalonAu
-More duties it needed on a case by case basis
Other important things to know:
>No salon phones to answer as we all run our own businesses.
>No needed to check out clients unless it’s a case by case scenario.
>PTO/MTO is unpaid until your 90 days Rising Star period is over
>Vacation Days is unpaid until you have been here a year
Since we are a small and growing at this time we don’t offer: YET !

Hours needed covered:
Sunday: Closed
Monday: Closed (Case by case) Clean, catch up on laundry, etc…(before an event)
Tuesday - Friday 10-5pm [Peak times may need to be till 7pm]
Saturday 10-5pm
Paycheck Estimated Totals: 35-40hrs [Before Taxes]
$10/hr X35 = $350/week -$1400/month
X40/hr = $400/wk - $1600/month
PEAK TIMES:

Candidates should have 1-3+ years of experience
The ideal First Impressions Coordinator is warm, composed, and naturally welcoming, creating an immediate sense of ease for every guest who enters Salon Au.
This individual communicates with confidence and grace, both in person and digitally, and understands the importance of maintaining a polished, unhurried tone at all times.
They possess strong emotional intelligence, allowing them to anticipate client needs, respond thoughtfully to concerns, and remain calm and solution-focused during busy moments.
A high level of organization and attention to detail is essential, with comfort using online booking systems, point-of-sale platforms, and client management tools.
The First Impressions Coordinator values luxury hospitality, appreciates elevated environments, and understands that atmosphere, discretion, and professionalism are just as important as efficiency.
They support the service team with respect for flow and timing, maintain confidentiality, and take pride in keeping shared spaces serene, polished, and client-ready. Above all, they recognize that first impressions set the tone for the entire Salon Au experience and take ownership of making every interaction feel intentional, inclusive, and exceptional.
